Does supplication repel fate and divine decree concerning that which the servant fears?

Belief in divine decree (Al-Qadar) is obligatory, and it is the sixth pillar of faith. Supplication (Du'a) is part of divine decree. Du'a does not contradict Al-Qadar; rather, it changes what is in the hands of the angels in the scrolls. Calamity may descend, but du'a intercepts it and averts it. Therefore, a Muslim must not neglect making supplication before or after the descent of calamity, and they must take measures and not surrender to it under the pretext of divine decree. The strong believer who is keen on what benefits them and seeks Allah's help is better than the weak believer. When something undesirable befalls them, they should say: "Qaddar Allahu wa ma sha'a fa'al" (Allah has decreed, and what He wills, He does).
