Permissibility (ibahah) is when a person is given the choice between performing an act and refraining from it. That which is obligatory () is rewarded if performed and punished if abandoned. That which is recommended (mandub) is rewarded if performed and not punished if abandoned. That which is forbidden () is rewarded if abandoned and punished if performed. That which is disliked () is rewarded if abandoned and not punished if performed. That which is permissible () is neither rewarded if performed nor punished if abandoned.
