The husband has the right to take his wife back without a new contract as long as she is within her waiting period (iddah). If the waiting period ends, he may not take her back except with a new contract.

The wife must repent from hitting her husband and verbally abusing him, and the husband must repent from hitting his wife. Mutual understanding and respect between the spouses are recommended.
