Intellectual property rights are protected for their owners, and it is not permissible to infringe upon them, by a decision of the Islamic Fiqh Academy and others. Accordingly, it is not permissible to translate books if their owners prohibit it, for scientific advancement is not achieved by infringing upon the rights of others.
