Is a wife considered sinful if she stops reciting the Quran and sits with her husband to watch television at his request, especially during Ramadan, given that she tries to recite at other times and is slow in reading due to learning Tajweed?

There is no harm in reciting the Quran and performing many acts of obedience as long as it does not lead to neglecting the husband's right, because his right to enjoyment is an obligation that should not be forfeited by performing a supererogatory act. A righteous wife should be pleased by her husband's approaching her and should choose times for her worship when he is occupied. Watching television is an evil that must be guarded against due to the temptations of desires and doubts it contains, and its promotion of forbidden things. It is incumbent upon the husband to fear Allah and keep his family from seeing and hearing these forbidden things. If the husband invites to watch or listen to forbidden things, he must not be obeyed, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah; obedience is only in what is right." The wife should gently advise him.
