Is the wealthy debtor's procrastination in repaying debt considered a sin and an act of disobedience to Allah?

A benevolent loan (Qard Hasan) is one of the best acts of devotion. Good faith does not preclude documenting and witnessing debt, as the verse instructs: "O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down" (Quran 2:282). Delaying the repayment of a debt without a valid excuse is an injustice, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Procrastination in paying debts by a rich person is injustice." People's rights must be fulfilled. Whoever takes people's money with the intention of repaying it, Allah will help him repay it. And whoever takes it with the intention of destroying it, Allah will destroy him. The debtor should be reminded to fulfill obligations before the Day of Judgment, when his good deeds will be taken away, or the sins of those whose rights he violated will be cast upon him.
