What is the authenticity of the supplication for the fifth day of Ramadan: "O Allah, on this day, make me among those who seek Your forgiveness, and make me among Your righteous and obedient servants, and make me among Your pious loyalists, by Your compassion, O Most Merciful of the merciful"?

This supplication has no authentic Prophetic tradition (hadith (definition)) associated with it, nor is there any mention of it in the books of Sunnah (definition) or in the compilations of weak and fabricated hadiths. Al-Suyuti reported from Ibn al-Jawzi that if a hadith contradicts reason, or deviates from transmitted texts, or contravenes established principles, then it is fabricated. The meaning of its contravening established principles is that it falls outside the recognized collections of Islam, such as the Musnads and other well-known books.
