What is the authenticity of the supplication "O Allah, Lord of the month of Ramadan," designated for each night of Ramadan, and what is the authenticity of the hadith concerning the virtue of forgiveness of forty years of sins for its reciter?

This supplication has no basis in the books of Sunnah or in the compilations of Hadith. It has not even been mentioned by those who compiled fabricated hadiths. Furthermore, it is found only on some websites belonging to people of innovation. Therefore, it is not permissible to believe in the virtue mentioned therein, regarding the forgiveness of forty years' worth of sins, even though its meaning does not contain any Sharia-forbidden elements. Muslims are advised to focus on the supplications authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and to verify their authenticity from reliable sources.
