The answer

The amount of expiation () obligatory for one who delays making up for until another Ramadan overtakes them is one mudd of food for each day. The measure of one mudd is approximately 750 grams of rice. This is the view of Al-Shafi'i. It is permissible to give the fidyah to a single needy person. It is also permissible for the feeding to take place before making up the fast, or after it, or concurrently with it.
