Is the fasting of six days of Shawwal recorded for one who fasted five days of it, then broke her fast and menstruated?

Some scholars have held that making up the six days of Shawwal is not prescribed, because they are a Sunnah restricted to a specific time, and their virtue is not attained outside of Shawwal. However, it is hoped that whoever missed fasting them will attain their reward through their intention. Others have held that it is recommended to make them up in Dhul-Qa'dah.
