What should I do with the tomatoes and bread that I find in the street, should I leave them, and am I sinful if I leave them?

If the food thrown on the road is insignificant, and its owner would not ask about it, then it is permissible to benefit from it, feed it to animals, or remove it from the road and place it in a clean spot. It is disliked to leave it on the road as it is a degradation of it. However, if it is abundant and valuable, it is considered a lost item (Luqatah) which may be taken, and doing so may be obligatory, recommended, or forbidden depending on the situation. It must be announced after being taken.
