Do the Holy Qur’an or the Prophetic Sunnah indicate the existence of planets in the solar system?

The Holy Quran is a book of guidance for humanity, not a book of natural sciences, even though it contains scientific allusions. The cosmic verses within it aim to demonstrate the Creator's power and wisdom, and to confirm to future generations that the Quran is truth. Caution must be exercised against linking the interpretation of Quranic truths with changing scientific theories, for the truths of the Quran are definitive and constant. The Quran spoke generally about planets, stars, the sun, and the moon, and did not delve into specific details about the solar system as we know it today.
