The Quran is the word of Allah, the Creator, the Knower of all things, and doubt in it is disbelief (kufr). A Muslim must supplicate to Allah and strive to seek knowledge from well-established scholars to understand difficult verses. He must refrain from delving into the meanings of the Quran without the proper means. A scientific fact cannot contradict the Quran and Sunnah (definition), and the sphericity of the Earth is an agreed-upon matter. The verse mentioned describes the state of the sun from the perspective of the observer, not its reality, so there is no contradiction between it and scientific facts.
