What is the text of the hadith that mentions the seven whom Allah will shade on a Day when there is no shade but His, and what is its grading? Is the one who maintains the five daily prayers in congregation among them? And what are the characteristics of each one of them?

The hadith inquired about by the questioner was narrated by the two Shaykhs, Al-Bukhari and Muslim, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Seven types of people will Allah shade in His shade on the Day when there is no shade but His shade: a just ruler, a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah, a man whose heart is attached to the mosques, two men who love each other for Allah's sake, meeting for that and parting for that, a man who is invited by a woman of high status and beauty [for illicit intercourse], but he says: 'Indeed, I fear Allah,' a man who gives in charity and conceals it to such an extent that his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent, and a man who remembered Allah in solitude and his eyes overflowed with tears." In a narration by Al-Tirmidhi: "And a man whose heart was attached to the mosques, so much so that when he left it, he yearned to return to it."

This hadith is authentic and of the highest degree of authenticity. As for maintaining the five daily prayers in the mosque, if the heart of the worshipper is attached to the mosque, yearning for it and feeling joy in it, then he is among them; otherwise, not, but he is still upon great good.
