Is the phrase: "Everything that comes to your mind, Allah is different from that," sound, and does it prevent contemplation of Allah's Names and Attributes?

Contemplating Allah's names and attributes is one of the greatest gateways to knowledge and servitude. The Qur'an is the word of Allah, and in it, He manifests Himself with attributes that inspire submission, love, hope, fear, obedience, modesty, and reliance [on Him]. It introduces the servant to the divine and Lordly attributes. Whatever comes to mind regarding His names and attributes that are affirmed in the Qur’an and Sunnah is true and obligatory to believe. However, whatever comes to mind in terms of anthropomorphism (tashbeeh), similitude (tamtheel), or modality (takyeef) is false and must be refrained from, for "There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing."
