The guardian of a woman is advised to marry off his daughter and protect her in times of tribulation. A difference in nationality should not be an impediment to marriage if the suitor is a man of religion and good character. The daughter is advised to try to persuade her father, and if he insists on refusing and no suitable husband comes forward whom she fears will lead her into tribulation, then she may raise her matter to the Muslim judge to marry her to a suitable man.
