Is the statement that when the Mu'awwidhatayn were revealed, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, adopted them and abandoned all other forms of seeking refuge, including the seeking of refuge for Ishmael and Isaac with "I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every harmful thing, and from every evil eye," correct? And what are the forms of seeking refuge that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, abandoned?

The two Mu'awwidhatayn (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) are the best for seeking refuge [with Allah], but this does not preclude seeking refuge with other lawful Ruqyah (incantations). Scholars have unanimously agreed on the permissibility of Ruqyah if it is with the words of Allah or His Names and Attributes, and in the Arabic language or what its meaning can be understood, along with the belief that the Ruqyah does not have an effect in itself but by the permission of Allah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek refuge for Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn with other than the Mu'awwidhatayn, which indicates that he did not abandon other lawful forms of seeking refuge.
