What is the ruling on playing, running, and disturbing worshippers in the mosque, citing 'Aisha's narration about the Abyssinians playing in the mosque?

Mosques must be glorified and protected from idle talk, falsehoods, and play, as mentioned in the noble verse: "In houses which Allah has ordered to be raised and that His name be mentioned therein."

Some people's reliance on the story of the Abyssinians playing in the mosque does not permit playing in it. Scholars have differed in interpreting this incident. Some said it was aimed at conciliating their hearts to Islam, or that it was in the mosque's courtyard, not inside it, or that it was training for combat and an application of Allah's saying: "And prepare against them whatever you are able of power."

Furthermore, their play was not during prayer time, so it did not disturb the worshippers.
