The answer

If a traveler arrives in his hometown or intends to stay four days or more after the time for 'Isha prayer has begun, he may combine the Maghrib and 'Isha prayers in order and consecutively. However, he should not shorten 'Isha because he is a resident. But if the place is not his hometown and he does not intend to stay there for four days or more, then he is considered a traveler, and it is permissible for him to combine and shorten the prayers and pray them consecutively.
