Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to enter the Prophet's Mosque and the Sacred Mosque for a visit?
It is forbidden for a menstruating woman and a woman in postpartum bleeding (nifas) to enter the mosque, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "I do not permit the mosque for a menstruating woman or a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub)." A woman is rewarded for her intention to visit the Prophet's Mosque even if she is prevented from doing so, because what prevents her is her compliance with Allah's command, and due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, actions are by intentions, and indeed, every person will have what he intended." And also due to his saying: "Indeed, there are people in Madinah who, whenever you traveled a distance or crossed a valley, were with you." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, even while they are in Madinah?" He said: "Even while they are in Madinah; the excuse detained them."
