What is the ruling on filming video games that include images of animate beings—such as football games—and publishing them on YouTube without music?

There is no harm in video recording so long as it does not include something forbidden, such as the exposure of 'awrah. Nevertheless, refraining from it is more befitting due to its lack of benefit and because the believer's life is precious and should not be wasted in amusement and play. It is more appropriate to occupy oneself and others with obedience to Allah.
