The first hadith is weak because its chain of narration includes Kathir ibn Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Awf, who is considered weak by consensus of the Imams of al-Jarh wal-Ta'deel (critics of narrators). It also contains Ismail ibn Abi Uways, who is also weak.
