What must the petitioner do for Allah to answer his supplication, knowing that he supplicates, prays Witr, recites the Quran, seeks forgiveness, gives charity, and sponsors an orphan?
Supplication (Du'a) is an act of worship commanded by Allah Almighty, Who has promised to answer it. It will not be lost; either the desire will be fulfilled, or the reward will be stored, or evil and tribulation will be averted. The Prophet, peace be upon him, advised abundant supplication and against hastening, and urged having good thoughts about Allah and being certain of the answer. Also, the supplication of Dhul-Nun, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers," is answered.
