The answer

It is not permissible to marry a non-Muslim woman unless she is from the People of the Book (Jewish or Christian) and chaste. If she has committed immoral acts, it is not permissible to marry her unless she abandons them and her chastity becomes apparent. It is preferable for a Muslim man to marry a righteous Muslim woman, for the noble verse, "If you marry believing women," is a reminder to the believer not to marry anyone but a believing woman, in order to choose well for his progeny.
