Does speaking about an affliction or falling into sin after patiently enduring it nullify the reward for that patience? And is speaking about a problem to seek advice or describing the severity of an affliction to others considered impatience or discontent?

Allah Almighty loves those who are patient and rewards them without measure. The true Islamic definition of patience is: "restraining oneself from what is disliked, holding the tongue from complaining, enduring hardship, and awaiting relief." A complaint that does not involve discontent does not negate the essence of patience, but rather perfects it. There is no harm in complaining to seek treatment, or prayer, or advice, or merely to inform, as did the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him). It is best that the complaint be directed to Allah, to whom the servant pours out his worries and reveals his poverty and weakness. If a servant is patient and then falls into sin or becomes discontent with affliction, he is sinful for that, but his previous patience is recorded for him and not lost.
