Is a veiled woman's sitting with her fiancé's brother, his mother, his father, her brother, and her mother to discuss general matters considered a violation of Sharia? Is it permissible for a woman to greet her maternal cousin and congratulate him on his marriage over the phone, or to ask him to convey her greetings to his wife? Is it permissible for a man to greet his paternal cousin over the phone and inquire about her husband's well-being?

It is permissible for men and women to gather, provided they adhere to the legitimate Islamic guidelines. These include avoiding private seclusion between a man and a non-mahram woman, the necessity of modesty, and refraining from being soft in speech, as Allah Almighty says: "So do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet." And lowering the gaze, as Allah Almighty says: "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts."
