What is the meaning of "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi," and what should one feel when saying it to increase its benefit?

When reciting "Subhan Allah wa bihamdih" (Glory be to Allah and with His praise) or other forms of dhikr, one must feel the greatness of the One being mentioned and reflect upon the meaning of the dhikr. It is a glorification of Allah and an affirmation of His transcendence above all imperfections, and Allah loves praise and rewards for it. One must have presence of heart and devotion, for Allah does not accept supplications from a heedless, distracted heart. Among the aids to achieving presence of heart is remembering that you are addressing and praising your Lord, and that He is aware of your innermost thoughts, for Allah is a witness to all your deeds.
