The answer

As long as the questioner is experiencing istiḥāḍah (prolonged vaginal bleeding outside of menstruation) and has a recognized regular period, then any blood she sees during the duration of this regular period is considered menstruation (ḥayḍ), and anything outside of that is istiḥāḍah. She should perform ghusl (ritual purification bath) after her menstrual period ends, then she may pray and fast, and she has all the rulings of those who are in a state of purity. It is obligatory for her to perform wuḍūʾ (ablution) for each prayer after its time has begun, and she may pray the obligatory prayer and as many supererogatory prayers as she wishes with this wuḍūʾ.
