Is it true that the origin of kohl used today is the ash of Mount Tur, where Allah manifested Himself to Moses, and that this mountain will continue to produce kohl until the Day of Judgment, which gave kohl a special virtue even during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him?

Kohl has been known since ancient times for its importance to the eye, especially antimony (ithmid), which sharpens vision, strengthens eyesight, cleanses the eye, and has a special virtue when applied before sleep. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged applying kohl with antimony because "it sharpens the vision and makes hair grow." Antimony is a black stone with a reddish tinge, found in Hejaz and Isfahan. As for the claim that current kohl is fundamentally derived from the ashes of Mount Sinai (Jabal al-Tur), it is baseless and lacks evidence, because antimony is a stone that is crushed, not ashes, and its presence is known in other regions. Prophetic medicine has no connection with Mount Sinai in this regard.
