Why do the angels who record the deeds of the night descend with the 'Asr prayer, even though the night begins with the Maghrib Adhan? And what is the wisdom behind that? Is there astronomical evidence that the night begins with 'Asr? And why do the angels of the night not descend with the Maghrib prayer? Does this mean that Qiyam al-Layl (night prayer) and Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) begin with the 'Asr prayer?

Night begins at sunset, which is the time of the Maghrib prayer call, not from the Asr prayer. As for the reason angels descend during the Asr prayer, it is due to the virtue of this prayer and its time. The virtue of the 'Ashee (late afternoon/early evening) has been mentioned in the Qur'an in many verses. The Asr prayer is one of the prayers where the angels of the night and the angels of the day gather, and in which deeds are presented to Allah, which is why it is emphasized. Some scholars are of the opinion that the angels who gather for the Asr prayer are not the guardian angels, while others hold that they are the guardian angels.
