What is the ruling on using creams that are later found to contain alcohol, and must they be disposed of despite their high cost?

Creams containing alcohol are impure (najis) and it is not permissible to use them on clothes or the body, unless they undergo a complete transformation (istihalah) that removes their intoxicating property, thereby purifying them. It is not permissible to use this impure cream even if it is washed afterwards, because it is forbidden to touch impurity without necessity. It must be disposed of if it cannot be returned.
