Is purification (taharah) required before reading from Quran applications on a mobile phone screen?

Mobile phones containing the Qur’an do not take the ruling of the Mushaf. It is permissible to touch them and enter the restroom with them without ritual purity, because the writing of the Qur’an in them appears as vibrations and not as fixed letters like in the Mushaf. Sheikh Abdur-Rahman ibn Nasir Al-Barrak and Sheikh Salih Al-Fawzan have stated the permissibility of reciting the Qur’an from a mobile phone without ritual purity, as it is not a Mushaf in the jurisprudential sense. This is a facilitation for menstruating women and for those who find it difficult to carry the Mushaf.
