Should someone who denied predestination and then believed in it pronounce the Two Testimonies, or is belief in it sufficient? Are my questions about how Surat Al-Mulk and the two surahs of seeking refuge (Al-Mu'awwidhatayn) save from torment and provide protection, while Allah is truly the Savior and Protector, considered disbelief? And is the phrase "من عفوك" (from Your pardon/forgiveness) when thanking Allah incorrect?

One who apostatizes by denying an obligation (fard) is not sufficiently reinstated by merely uttering the two testimonies of faith (Shahadatayn); rather, he must affirm what he denied. Reciting Surat al-Mulk prevents the torment of the grave, and this does not contradict the fact that Allah is the Deliverer, for He delivers His servants through means that He has decreed. Questions intended for learning or dispelling doubts are not considered disbelief (kufr). As for the phrase "this is from your pardon/forgiveness (afw)," it is permissible in the context of thanking Allah or a created being, for Allah Almighty is characterized by 'Afw (pardon/forgiveness), and He is the source of the tranquility and success we experience.
