Is distributing almond-covered sweets to celebrate a newborn considered an imitation of the disbelievers?

The resemblance to disbelievers that is prohibited is doing what is specific to them. If an act becomes widespread among Muslims and disbelievers, it is no longer considered resemblance. Distributing sweets on occasions is not an act of resemblance to disbelievers; rather, it is a well-known practice in Muslim lands to express joy. Therefore, there is no harm in distributing sweets covered with almonds and the like, in celebration of a new baby.
