Is it permissible to supplicate for a deceased person who dealt in usury?

He whose Islam has been established and who died without associating anything with Allah and without doing anything that would take him out of the religion, then he is a Muslim. And if he committed major sins and died before repenting from them, then he is a disobedient Muslim; his affair is with Allah. Funeral prayers are performed over him, and he is buried in Muslim cemeteries. It is permissible to supplicate for him and give charity on his behalf, and forgiveness and mercy are hoped for him, based on the Almighty's saying: "Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives anything less than that for whoever He wills."
