Is it permissible for the husband to abandon the marital bed when problems arise?

The spouses must not allow Satan to sow enmity between them, as he is keen on separating them. If a problem arises, they should use reason and take the initiative to extinguish it. Abandonment and turning away from each other are not permissible unless for a legitimate reason, as abandonment between Muslims is not allowed for more than three nights, and this is even more emphasized for spouses. A husband may abandon his wife due to her disobedience (nushuz) after failing to reform her with kind words and admonition, and this abandonment should be in the marital bed or in another room.
