Is it permissible to be content with one child to ensure their proper upbringing, especially with the wife working and the multitude of marital problems, for fear of being solely responsible for raising more than one child in the future?

It has been previously affirmed that provisions are in the hands of Allah, and fear of the future undermines reliance on Him. It is permissible to postpone pregnancy for some time for the sake of providing a good upbringing for the child, but it is not permissible to completely prevent procreation. The presence of a child should be a reason to strengthen the bond between the spouses. The expenses of the children are the responsibility of the father, whether before or after divorce. It is permissible to refer the matter to a judge if the financially capable father refrains from providing maintenance. Procreation is a shared right of both spouses, and neither of them may unilaterally prevent it.
