What are the reasons that permit one spouse to prevent conception without the consent of the other?

Reasons for the permissibility of delaying conception:

1. Fear for the child from disbelief if the wife is in a land of war. 2. Fear for the child from slavery if the wife is a slave. 3. The wife's illness due to pregnancy, or the worsening of her illness because of it. 4. Fear for the suckling infant from weakness. 5. Fear for the offspring from corruption due to the corruption of the times (specific to the Hanafis).
