Is a son's leaving home and marrying without the knowledge of his parents, who reject the idea of his marriage and oppose his choice of a wife, considered disobedience (ʿuqūq), especially given the father's illness, the son's pressing need to marry, and the deterioration of his psychological state due to obsessive thoughts, and despite his pledge to constantly inquire about them and fulfill their needs?

It is obligatory for you to obey your parents in what is good and to avoid anything that saddens them, as long as their obedience does not result in harm, especially since your father is ill and in need of care. Therefore, you must take care of him and be gentle in discussing matters with them, in compliance with the Almighty's saying: "And speak to them a noble word." If they do not respond and you are in need of marriage and living outside their home, there is no objection, provided you continue to honor them and provide for their needs. It is preferable to live as close to them as possible.
