What is the ruling on leaving the Mus'haf (copy of the Quran) in the house without reading from it for a period exceeding a month or a year, and does the sin cease by placing it in the mosque, knowing that there is a sufficiency of Mus'hafs in the mosques of the country?

The Quran and Sunnah (definition) urge the recitation of the Quran due to its great reward and the multiplication of good deeds. Therefore, one should allocate a daily time for its recitation and contemplation. There is no sin in placing a Mus'haf in the house, even if recitation is infrequent, but it is better to recite it frequently every day, even if only a little. If a Mus'haf is a person's only one, it is preferable to keep it for recitation. If there are multiple Mus'hafs, it is better to distribute them to those in need or to mosques.
