Is it permissible for a brother to appoint a lawyer for his killer brother, given his fear of him? Does the killer inherit from his father? Is the eldest son entitled to prevent his mother from returning home?

Killing a soul that Allah has forbidden is one of the gravest sins, and it is even more heinous if the killer is the son of the victim and incited by the mother. If the heirs voluntarily waive their right to retribution (Qisas), there is no blame in that. It is permissible to appoint a lawyer to facilitate the release of the killer after the waiver. Scholars have agreed that an intentional killer inherits nothing, neither from the wealth nor from the blood money (Diyya), based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "A killer inherits nothing." It is not permissible for a son to prevent his mother from returning home during her iddah (waiting period).
