The answer

A husband preventing his wife from speaking to or meeting with non- men unnecessarily is a correct action in accordance with Islamic law, and is considered praiseworthy jealousy. If the husband speaks to non-mahram women unnecessarily or oversteps the boundaries, he is sinful for violating Islamic law. His informing his wife of these transgressions is an open declaration of sin and bad manners. However, this does not justify her distress over his protective concern for her. Rather, she should enjoin him to what is right and forbid him from what is wrong, and help him adhere to Islamic law and distance himself from temptations.
