How should we deal with the problem of a disbelieving wife's attachment to her husband who does not wish to embrace Islam, knowing that if a disbelieving woman converts to Islam, it is not permissible for her to remain married to a disbelieving man, as Allah Almighty says: (They are not lawful for them, nor are they lawful for them)? And is it permissible to focus on her conversion to Islam and disregard the rest of the issue?

If a wife embraces Islam while her husband remains in his disbelief, she must separate from him after inviting him to Islam. If he does not embrace Islam, the marriage is annulled. If she hopes for his conversion, she may remain in the home until her iddah (waiting period) ends, provided she does not uncover herself before him or seclude herself with him during this period, as a precautionary measure. She must be fully informed of the ruling regarding separation, because concealing the ruling could lead to a greater problem if she apostatizes, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Invite them to Islam and inform them of what is due upon them therein regarding Allah's right." If she remains with him after her conversion while he is still in his disbelief, she is considered to have committed a grave sin.
