How do I get rid of a book of magic that contains Quranic verses, incantations, and talismans, and is it permissible to burn the entire book?

Books that contain the Basmala (Bismillah), or the names of Allah, or some Quranic verses mixed with talismans and the works of sorcerers, must be burned. This is out of fear that common people might believe in the validity of the misguidance contained therein, analogous to what the Companions did by burning the codices of the Mushaf that contained variations in wording and missing verses. The evidence for burning is what is narrated in Al-Bukhari, that Uthman ordered the burning of all codices and Mushafs except for the main Mushaf. Ibn Battal said: "In this hadith, there is permissibility for burning books that contain the name of Allah with fire, and that this is a way of honoring them and protecting them from being trodden upon."
