What should someone do who is unable to enter into a state of ihram on an airplane due to shyness, and is it permissible for him to enter into ihram from another miqat, and is a fidyah obligatory upon him if he enters into ihram after landing?
Whoever boards a plane intending to perform the rituals of Hajj or must enter into the state of when they are abreast of the , and it is not permissible to delay the ihram until after the miqat. A Muslim must not be ashamed to apply the rulings of . If the pilgrim (Hajji) or Umrah performer does not enter into ihram from the plane until they reach Jeddah, then they must return to the miqat and enter into ihram from there. If they do so, there is no penalty upon them. If they enter into ihram from Jeddah, then they must offer a sacrifice (dam) for abandoning one of the obligatory acts of Umrah, based on the saying of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them: "Whoever leaves out or forgets something from their rituals must offer a sacrifice (dam)."
