What is the ruling on a husband who accompanies and flirts with women, and forces his wife to receive them and sit with them, knowing that he prays and speaks about religion in front of people? Is the wife sinful if she goes along with him and sits with them, or must she seek a divorce (khulʿ)?

If the husband accompanies foreign women, flirts with them, and invites them home, this is a clear abomination and a heinous sin, and he must repent to Allah. It is not permissible for the wife to assist him in this abomination or to attend these immoral gatherings, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And those who do not witness falsehood." The wife is advised to strive to reform her husband and remind him of Allah and the Last Day. We do not advise her to seek Khul' (divorce initiated by the wife) because it may not change the abomination.
