What is the ruling on one who completes reciting the Qur'an and feeds the poor and needy on the night of the Prophet's birthday every year?

Gathering people for food on the two Eids and during the days of Tashreeq is a Sunnah and one of the rituals of Islam. Helping the poor by providing food in Ramadan is also among the Sunnahs of Islam, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like theirs." Giving aid to poor reciters of the Qur'an to help them is a righteous deed, and whoever assists them shares in the reward. However, observing non-Shar'i seasons, such as certain nights in Rabi' al-Awwal (the Mawlid), or Rajab, or the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, or the first Friday of Rajab, or the eighth of Shawwal ('Eid al-Abrar'), these are innovations that the Salaf did not approve.
