Do the earthquakes that occurred in countries such as Turkey, Mexico, Taiwan, and Japan have any significance?

Allah is Wise and Knowing in what He decrees and legislates, and He creates signs to frighten His servants and remind them of their duties, and to warn them against polytheism (shirk) and sins. Earthquakes and other calamities are among the signs by which Allah frightens His servants, and they occur due to polytheism and sins. The duty upon the occurrence of earthquakes is to repent to Allah, supplicate to Him, ask for well-being, frequently engage in remembrance of Allah and seeking forgiveness, and give charity to the poor and needy. Rulers must implement Allah's law, enjoin good and forbid evil to avert calamities.
