The answer

Earthquakes are signs among the signs of God, through which He tests His servants as a reminder, a warning, or a punishment. Humans should remember their weakness and turn to God with supplication and humility so that He may remove the affliction, as stated by the Almighty: "And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, and We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]." (Al-An'am/42).

It is recommended to frequently seek forgiveness, supplicate, humble oneself, and give charity when earthquakes occur. There is no specific supplication in the Prophetic for this; rather, a Muslim should pray with whatever God inspires them to ask for mercy and relief. Among the recommended acts are also repenting to God, asking Him for well-being, showing mercy to the poor and needy, and giving charity to them.
