What are the best and easiest ways to learn matters of religion, with suggestions for clear books or reliable scholars, given the differences in fatwas among scholars?

One must learn the correct belief, and what is indispensable from acts of worship such as purification, prayer, and fasting. Similarly, the rulings of Zakat for the wealthy, and the rulings of marriage for those about to embark upon it. This applies to all chapters of the religion; a Muslim should not proceed with any action until they know the ruling of Allah Almighty concerning it. In cases where scholars differ, one must follow the most reliable scholars. As for the method of learning, it involves seeking out a trustworthy and proficient shaykh in one of the recognized madhahib (schools of thought), or listening to the lectures of the venerable Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen. Among the suggested books are: "Aqidat al-Mu'min" (The Creed of the Believer) by Al-Jazairi, and "Silsilat al-Aqidah fi Dhaw' al-Kitab wa al-Sunnah" (The Series on Creed in Light of the Qur'an and Sunnah) by Dr. Omar Al-Ashqar, both for creed. For fiqh (jurisprudence): "Al-Fiqh al-Muyassar fi Dhaw' al-Kitab wa al-Sunnah" (Simplified Jurisprudence in Light of the Qur'an and Sunnah) and "Fiqh al-Sunnah".
